SURFACES WITH PRECISION AND RESTRAINT
The interior design of a family home near Darmstadt impresses with its clear, minimalistic design and carefully coordinated details. The heart of the house is a staircase whose architecture extends over three floors and combines elegance and technical sophistication. On the upper floor, the staircase opens up to reveal a customised built-in cabinet that spans the full width of the gable. At around 10 metres wide and 5 metres high, this cabinet looks like an integral part of the architecture. In addition to a seating niche in the gable cabinet made of knotty oak, two flush-mounted passages are integrated, also in knotty oak and refined with raw wood effect lacquer, which lead to the adjoining rooms.
The design of the house emphasises restraint and clarity. This also includes flush-fitting, extra-high doors with flush-fitting lever handle rosettes, flush-fitting window sills, built-in cabinets and balustrades, which were manufactured by the Luther joinery.
