Plantag Coatings, based in Detmold, has been awarded the FABEL seal of approval as a family-friendly company. The certificate was presented in April during a ceremony at the Lippe Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Detmold, following the company’s successful audit in February.
The FABEL seal is awarded by FABEL Service Lippe, a regional network that supports companies in developing family-friendly and health-promoting working conditions. FABEL Service Lippe advises companies on topics such as work-life balance, caring for relatives and workplace health promotion. The aim is to work with companies to develop sustainable solutions that meet both the needs of employees and the demands of modern working environments. Furthermore, the network promotes dialogue between companies, institutions and local authorities in the Lippe region and highlights examples of good practice.
The seal awarded in the Lippe region recognises companies and organisations that actively shape and sustainably develop their family-friendly corporate culture. The award is based on a structured analysis of existing measures to support a balance between work, family, care responsibilities and private life, carried out as part of a quality assessment. The evaluation by an independent jury also provides valuable insights for the future direction of a life-stage-oriented human resources policy.
At Plantag, a family-friendly approach is firmly embedded in the corporate culture. One aspect worth highlighting is the option of part-time apprenticeships, which enables apprentices to successfully balance family commitments with gaining professional qualifications. In this way, the company makes an important contribution to equal opportunities and securing a skilled workforce in the region.
Another key component is the workplace health management programme, which is being continuously expanded. A range of initiatives designed to promote physical and mental health support staff in their day-to-day work and beyond. The award was received personally by Managing Director Hanno Baumann. In his speech during the ceremony, he emphasised the special importance of family – both within the company’s management and with regard to the staff. In its statement, the jury particularly commended the company’s holistic commitment and the wide range of specific measures that have already been successfully implemented within the company.
