Plantag Coatings GmbH, based in Detmold, has completed the roll-out of its new ERP system. The company is using the cloud-based version of SAP S/4HANA. With this changeover, the company is setting the foundations for more stable processes and better service for its customers.
The launch came with a number of challenges. “We are aware that this also led to some problems. Delivery delays, combined with the simultaneous relocation of our production, resulted in constraints that our customers also felt. We would like to express our sincere thanks for the patience, trust and understanding shown by our customers,” said Managing Director Hanno Baumann.
Despite these teething problems, the company is confident that it is on the right track. “The investments in our site and the roll-out of SAP are a clear sign of our forward-looking approach. We are setting the foundations for greater transparency, efficiency and a significantly improved delivery performance,” says Hanno Baumann.
It is particularly encouraging that the next generation of the Baumann family, the company’s owners, has been heavily involved in the project and has actively supported the roll-out of the new ERP system. This underlines that the company is well-positioned for the future, not only in terms of technology but also in terms of its workforce and strategy.
In the second phase of the SAP implementation, delivery processes will be further optimised and workflows made faster and more transparent. The year-end stock-take has also already gone much more smoothly with the new system.
